Passport request received from Delhi CHC to be sent from Overseas

Hello Everyone,

I have received a request from Delhi CHC to do our medicals , pay RPRF fees and provide Indian mailing address and send our original passports . Me and my wife as based in London, I am a British now and my wife is Indian Citizen. Question for everyone

1. I have paid 2 RPRF fees online via CIC website, I could not pay them in Indian Rupees as I am based in UK , however I have attached a receipt of the payment CAD$980 (490*2), is this OK ?


2. Is is safe to send passport overseas to Delhi via courier , DHL have agreed to carry our passport ? I am not sure about the return

3. Once the passport is submitted how many days does it take to get our passports back in India , assuming CHC will send them to our Indian mailing address ?

4. Does any anyone what is the validity of stamp or the letter which is sent if approved ? How many days do I get for Landing ?

Grateful if you anyone with the knowledge or experience can reply to my post .

Please do not send the passport to New Delhi.... send a mail to CIC and tell them that you are in UK and would like to have the VISA stamped at UK office....

You cannot request office change or stamping at other office once it's gone to a embassy ( such as ND )

AFAIK, you can request CIC to resend the passport request with your current country of residence VISA office.....

AND... AFAIK, sending your passport through courier to another country is a big NO NO (it PROBABLY is not legal too)....

Consider this situation... you send your passport from UK to India for stamping, which usually takes approximately 7 - 10 days... If you (god forbid) have to produce your passport to the UK authorities, you dont have that on hand and you would be considered as an illegal immigrant if you are unable to convince them of your situation...

For me.... I will NEVER send it out of my country of residence...

I will leave the rest to the OP....

You cannot ask for office change, period. He has to take PP in person to India and wait or send it with someone.

OP - just email ND and say you want PP in UK, and see what they tell you. You will know, once a file is transferred to a certain office, the only way to get another office is to reapply

BigBee is correct.... You cannot send your passport to India ( not safe to do so) or send it outside india in the first place.

And yes you can request your Visa office for stamping in another country of residence. If you browse this forum...many people have asked the same question and some of the contacted the visa office - VO agreed to stamp the passport in new country of residence (most cases are for indians so it must be right).
You can browse this forum and see for yourself.

Most common case that I have read is : Visa office is CPP Ottawa - The applicant moved back to india and cannot come to canada. They request for stamping in india. This and the other way around too works.

You will get your reply when OP gets reply from ND

CPP-O was handling files for processing, playing a helping hand. Only those files can be requested stamping from different office, but once in ND - it cannot move
