PASSPORT REQUEST PROBLEM

I applied in CIC Riyadh ONLINE. I'm having some trouble and doubts about the passport request. I'm afraid that I can't send my passport directly to the cic riyadh once i got their request coz my current employer will never allow me to borrow my passport. In this case I'm planning to file an emergency exit once i got the passport request and planning to send it when i arrived in the philippines.

Am i allowed to send the passport from philippines going back to cic riyadh? Is it possible?

Anyone who did this or know something about this issue please share your info and experience. Thank you so much!

I can only tell you that sending passport via courier internationally is not okay.

I am aware of employer's keeping passport in SA. Just have no idea how would you get around that.

hi, are you working in hospital? I saw your posts in cic riyadh and i understand you're much worried...what if at the the time of passport request you have to file for emergency exit so you can have your passport then send it to riyadh. When your iqama will expire? As long as its still valid, you can stay in the kingdom while waiting, your father is here? You can stay with him for the meantime...also send email to cic that you're no longer working, just waiting for your visa...

I do not know much about work permit application but in CEC application once you get the passport request and If you are not in the country of residence where you applied. Simply send an email to CIC and tell them that you want to send your passport to CHC local office instead of Riyadh.

I could be wrong, please double check with CHC or wait for some senior members to shed some more light in the said matter

Yes im working in a hospital.. my iqama will expire on october..
-im also not sure about what you've suggested.. because if ill do that my employer will only give my passport on the day of my flight. Let us tell that i will not ride the plane that they've booked for me and i'll stay with my dad here so i can send the passport but one problem also is the EXIT VISA... i've searched in the net that there's a date written on the exit visa/letter. EXIT BEFORE: DD/MM/YYYY.. what if the date written here is same with the date of the flight they've booked?
It will also be a problem if i'll not go exit and wait for my passport to be sent back by the cic. I again need to process/produce and exit visa/letter.. and i dont know how to get one since the employer is the one processing it before you go exit... -_-

Mailing passport Internationally is illegal. I don't know of alternatives, like Ali mentioned, you could notify and send passport to your local Canadian embassy in case of CEC. I don't know how it works in this case.

So i have to know if it is possible to send the passport in Canadian Embassy in Manila... i hope this one is possible.

Well that is what i knew generically. I don't know if Philippines has any exceptions. He is talking about going back to Philippines while he had applied in Saudia Arabia. So he would mail passport to Saudia Arabia, which in my knowledge is not legal.

Please correct me if you know that is not the case. Would appreciate any reference since i really didn't know that.

As I know,no one is allowed to keep someone else passport... this needs to be reported to the high consulate about employer keeping the passport of their employee... there is no law in Saudi Arabia or even in other country to detained or lock out the identification document of a foreign worker especially passport. You can ask anybody in the police department or any consulate or public attorney in Riyadh in terms of foreign workers. You can inform the philippine consulate about this and ask them that you need a letter from them to claim your passport from your employer.

How i wish that thing will be that easy for me to do but im not the strong type person to do that. This is how it works here in KSA.. and i also wish i could go out to report it in the authority but we, together with my colleagues are like prisoners that are also locked up. We are not allowed to go outside our building facility. -_-
