I see. So how are you planning to get the visa stamped??? Do you consider sending the passport to the nearest available VAC center for stamping (probably in other countries)???

I'm still trying to read more about it. Hopefully, it will possible to get it stamped somewhere closer. I'll probably ask more info from IRCC.

I did. I still have one that's valid until 2029 (from my visitor visa application)

I am quite confused. If VAC(s) are closed in India, then how can you even submit your passport? Does the passport request letter state instructions? And also, how can they ask for passport without biometrics? Anyways, this is a very GOOD news for all of us.

He had provided biometrics for visitor visa so it will count eventually.

So your friend was a March applicant who submitted his/her bio-metrics and got a passport request without an AIP right?
