Passport Request - How to send passport

Hi,

I am a Canadian PR and had sponsored for my wife for the PR. She is in US. But her file went to New Delhi, India for processing. She has got a passport request now which asks to send the passport to India. In the email, they have mentioned that if she is in Canada, she can send the passport to CIC in Ottawa.

What do you suggest:
1. To send the passport to Ottawa or India?
2. If sending to Ottawa - "should she courier the passport to me (living in Canada) and I should send it to CIC" or "send the passport directly from US to CIC ottawa"?

Kindly suggest.

if you want to send the passport to Ottawa, you will need to contact the VO in India to get the approval.
otherwise, you will have to send it to India.

I think you just call or email Ottawa office if she can directly send passport from US to ottawa office; I think it is possible.

You can utilize both options which one you like sending from US to Ottawa........or.......sending to you in Canada and then you courier to Ottawa.

I sent from US to Ottawa and used FedEx courier. Plus I also sent FedEx return label in the same envelop.

If you want you can email VO and inform them that you are sending passport to Ottawa.

Hi 2calgary, Thanks for your response. Would the VO have any issues on the fact that she is not in Canada and still sending her passport from a canadian address?
