I have applied for PR under CEC and have included my family as dependents who has never been in Canada.

Now when I CIC requests passport to print PR visa for me and dependents would it be in Canada visa offices?

From what I have read on these forums, at the time you get PPR, you will have to send in your passport to the VO and send an explanation letter asking them to make arrangements for you dependants in the country they are residing. Then the VO from that country will contact you asking for your dependant's passports.

Thanks any timelines on when VO from India would make a passport request. I called customer service they gave me below link
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/fc-spouses.asp

but here the processing time says 16 months

Looking at the time lines I am thinking that it would be better to bring my family here on visitor visa.

Hmm.. I cannot speak to what CIC customer service said, but based on the cases that other applicants have discussed here on the forum, it took 3 to 4 weeks for the VO to contact them. I am not sure about processing times. However, I highly doubt that it will take 16 months :) At the most, I would say you are looking at extra two months for your dependants. Again, this is based on what I have read on the forum in the past.

Also, follow this thread on this forum: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/pr-visa-printing-in-cic-delhi-consulate-t273223.15.html

Applicants are in the same boat as you here and I will be in the same boat as well when I get my PPR.

Hope this helps.

P.

I agree , 16 months would be perhaps for people from scratch. Thanks for the link and +1 for you.
