passport request cancelled after three days!!!

hello there,
plzzz help if this happened to anyone in here!
I am an international applicant, I submitted my application on June 4 for student visa and was passport requested for issuing Visa on July 11. I got thrilled and gave my passport to the Canada embassy on Monday July 14 and on July 15 I received a new message in my CIC account saying that Do NOT SEND your passport. Your passport request was cancelled! :( :( has this ever happened before? what are the possible reseaons?
 
this is the first time i am listening this news. it could be happened becoz they might not have completed all the formalities or need some verification done. dont worry every thng will be fine

I had such situation. I have been requested to submit my passport. Then after 4 hours got e-mail that request was sent in error and that for further query I should consult MyCICAccount. And in MyCICAccount refusal message was awaiting me.
If your application status is still open, then fingers crossed hope for the best.

May I ask when you received the passport request email from embassy?
what was the reason for refusal?
 
I think it is high time we need to fight for our rights with this kind of wrongs. Somebody has fought like that in this forum & his refusal was reverse after he wrote strong petiion about his refusal on wrong reason though not similar to ur own circumstances. But what I am saying is to find means of getting access to immigration minister to complain this kind of wrongdoing of cic. It is a negative exposure minister may want to avoid which in my believe may bring fortune to u 2. If u make strong case that u suffer shock & trauma from that incredible cancellation or erroneous approval.
