Passport Request - Can I request more time / re-medicals

Hello,

I am May 2013 applicant and just received passport request. My medical will expire on 1st May 2015 and I am expecting my immigration visa would have the same expiry.

However I am currently working in USA on a project and due to my work permit transfer to new employer, I am not eligible to travel outside USA until I receive a new approval. Therefore I do NOT want to immediately go to Canada until August of this year when my project in USA will end and my rental lease will end as well.

Because of my restriction on travel, I can not either temporarily land in Canada and then come back. Therefore I want to ask from experts on this forum, if it is possible to request the Visa Office that I want to under go a medical again so that I can get an extended time for the visa expiry to land later this year? (I assume if I redo medicals, my visa expiry would be same time next year).

Please note they already have given me two extensions for submitting FBI police report. But that delay was because FBI taking more than 4 months to return the police reports.

Just for someone in the same situation, yes you can request for the remedicals as I did. VO accepted the request and asked the medical office to extend the validity of my medicals.

Congrats, it means your earlier medical was extended rather than asking you to go for medical once again ?
