Passport Request Abu Dhabi Student Application

hello everyone,
I got a question to ask and clarify.

a friend of mine applied for student visa probably in Dec 2013. He got a passport request to submit last week and it says we need this to further review your application. there is a UCI number on the letter as well. does this means that visa has been approved? does abu dhabi embassy ask for passport if visa is rejected? any help on this will be good. does canada embassy put refusal stamp on passport if visa is rejected.

they never took my friend's passport. they said we will ask for it.

yes, he did.

request for passport doesn't mean the visa is issued. he should wait till receive his passport and check if it has the visa.

curious on why do you say so... your response make a generic sense.. but any experience?

Hey,

I applied through Abu Dhabi VFS and got refused. They didn't ask me a passport. They just send me a mail that your decision has been dispatched from Abu Dhabi VO. If they ask for passport means there is something to be happy.

This happened to one of my friend, he got passport request and he was happy to get his visa but then he got rejected after.

Also there are other cases in this forum that had same experience. so it is always safe to wait till get the passport back.
