Hi,

I would like to know whether anyone was in this situation ,that your passport went for renewal/reissue and you got PPR.

So did you requested CPC to extend deadline for submitting the passport ,and did they agreed to it... please reply with ur experiences ....

Don't worry. Just send an explanation email to the CIC. You will send your new passport when you get it.

I will be going to Indian consulate in Toronto as its Damaged passport case( Lamination just came off slightly).

My concern .. is about Indian govt employees there in Toronto Consulate...as if they want delay something ...they are experts in that...

Anyone else has any good experience with CGI Toronto???

Couple of years ago I had been to CGI due to the same reason. Initially they said they will have to issue me a new passport, but due to the time urgency (US visa) I asked them if there was an alternate way. They relaminated my passport and gave it back. Im not sure if they are still doing it, but you can try.
 
I submitted my passport for renewal at Toronto and got PPR after one week. It took around 3 weeks (in July 2014) for passport renewal and I sent new passport (stapled along with old passport) to CIC for stamping without any explanation letter. CIC stamped the visa on new passport and returned with COPR. No issues.
