Passport renewal after already being invited to apply for PR

Hi,

My girlfriend was recently accepted by the Express Entry process and has been sent an invitation to apply for permanent residency. The only issue that just came up is she forget that her US passport was about to expire and will need to renew it. Her passport number will be different after that though. Will that affect her application? I hope she won't need to restart the whole Express Entry process from the beginning.

Got this response in another thread:

"No, it will not affect her as she can attach a copy of the bio data page of her new and old passports together and update the Visa Office of the passport renewal. She update all fields where she put the old passport number with the new one."

Can this be verified? Also maybe elaborated a bit upon if true?

Not sure whether or not topic bumps are discouraged, but I need to know this for sure quite soon.

It's fine. A person can update their passport during the process without issue.
