Hi! Is there any possibility that we can expedite passport renewal here in Canada? I will be going home to Phil. On Jan. 21, 2014; little did I know about the "6-month" rule. And my ticket is already booked. The problem is, my passport will expire on June 14, 2014. And I am scheduled for Passport renewal on Nov. 13th. Accdg to my friends here, it would take at most 3 months before the passport be renewed. Any suggestion pls? Should I pursue with my passport renewal and request the Phil. consulate to expedite it? Do they give considerations? Or can I just renew my passport in the Phil.? I am so worried. Thank you!

Meron po way para sa renewal. Ask nyo lang po dyan kung pwede ang immediate renewal or i-extend lang muna ang validity ng passport nyo. Dito kasi sa atin, meron ganoon na pupunta ka diretso sa office ng DFA Rush processing para sa mga meron ng work permit at dapat na agad umalis ng Pilipinas. Ang pinakamadali po ay magpa-extend kayo ng passport validity. Ask nyo lang po dyan sa Canada kung meron din non since me book and buy ticket na kayo.

Usually tatak lang din po yan sa isang box na nakalagay ay extended ng two years. Last year kasi nagka ganyan ako, papunta me ng Saigon then sa airport upon check-in nakita nila less than 6mos. na ang expiry ng passport ko kaya di ako pinatuloy. pinapunta agad ako sa DFA para ipa-extend yung validity, tapos kinausap ko yung officer sa DFA (usually mga officers ng mga seaman sa atin) then pinabayad ako ng P500 ata yun di ko na matandaan then ayun, na-extend ng 2years kasi nga ang tagal ng pa-schedule ng renewal ng passport na kahit online schedule pa yung ginagamit sa DFA eh halos ilang weeks ka pa mag-iintay.
I have already called Phil. consulate here in Vancouver. They don't expedite nor extend passport validity. They just advised me to call my airline and tell them my situation. The airline told me that it is okay because I am a Phil. Passport holder, I can just renew it in the Phil. Thank God! What a relief!
