Passport renew before coming to Canada and Visa stamped on old passport

Hi guys I need an advice,
My study visa has been approved right now is and its under printing. But my current passport is going to expire within a year. My study program is of one year only. So should I renew my passport with visa on the old passport or do it after coming to Canada.
Does having visa stamped on old passport would create any problem while travelling to Canada??

I got my PPR for SP, but my wife's is still pending. She got her medicals letter at the same time as I got my PPR. She took the exams today, but we realized her passport expires on April of 2021, just before I finish my studies. Would it be safe to renew her passport before she gets PPR?

I am in same situation. I received PPR but my wife(SOWP) didn't. Why does it happening? Why they are not sending PPR combined?

Its already been mentioned that the passport should be valid until the course duration. Renew the passport asap or else immigration officer won't allow. Carry both the passport the old and new one.
