Passport Re Issue Mandatory or not for SOWP??

No, it will not matter if you apply with your existing passport.... to reiterate, proofs of the relationship/marriage certificate matter

Well, if you are not convinced even after so many replies, then I am not sure what else do we have to offer.
Eventually it is your application and you have to decide what is best for you.
If you are convinced that it will matter in your case, then go ahead and get the passport redone.

Medicals are tied to your UCI and IMEI no which is generated for the medical result.
When you get medicals done beforehand, you need to share the IMEI no with Visa Office.
Passport is just for identification that the right person is appearing for medicals.

Inform your VO, they will put the application on hold until you get new passport.
