Passport+PGWP related

I am graduating this June and was planning to applying for PGWP. I had to apply for passport renewal through Ottawa Bangladesh high commission. They sent my passport to Bangaldesh and I was expecting to have it by end of April. Now all passport offices are closed back home and they won't open until further notice.

My study permit expires in July. What kind of issues I would have without passport now? Please help any advice will be greatly appreciated!

When does your passport expire? The PGWP can only be issued to the expiry date.

You don't need the physical passport to apply for an extension. Do you not have a photocopy?

I have photocopy of passport. What kind of extension do I need? Can I still apply for PGWP?

I meant to apply for the PGWP. That is the extension of status.

Correct me if I am wrong...I can apply for PGWP with photocopy of my passport? and I don't have to mail the physical copy of passport?

I already said that you don't have to send your physical passport.

You dont need passport, but you will only get PGWP until end of passport, you will be able to extend this later if you deserve more PGWP time.

Looks like I am still missing 1 page where I had the stamp on the day of landing in Canada. So it goes back to my original question What do I do without a passport?

Either you don't apply or you just submit an explanation letter about the missing page.

You should not send your passport in the mail.

Well, For passport renewal Bangladesh High Commission in Ottawa requires the passport either in mail or in person if biometrics needed. I didn't need the biometrics so I mailed my passport. I tracked with Canada Post and my passport was safely received by Ottawa high commission. They send the passport to Bangladesh for renewal [its the standard procedure]but in current situation, with everything being closed back home, I won't get my passport back by the time my study visa expires. Looks like I am screwed
