Passport not received in regular mail from New York

Hi,

I had sent my passport to CIC New York for PR stamping on 23rd June. however I made one mistake of not sending return envelope.

When I checked with CIC NY, they replied my email saying that they have returned my passport on 15th July by regular mail.

Today its almost 17 business days and I have not received my passports.

Now I am worried about my passport and I really don't know how to proceed further. I would be glad if any one can help/guide me what is next step to follow up my passport.

Hi Shalini,

All you need to do now is..follow these steps..

1) just go to the nearest Police station and file a complaint that you lost your passport.
2)Take the complaint number and apply for a new passport at the nearest Embassy(they should issue a new passport in a day if you pay them $150).
3)Take an appointment at CHC, Newyork,(canada visa office) go in person and get your canada PR stamped.

This whole process should not take more than two weeks of time. In the mean time if you get your passport, go take your complaint back and return the passport.

One of my student made the same mistake two year ago while he was asking for visitor visa to attend a conference at McGill. It took about 57 days to get it in mail (from Detroit to Columbus). Relax you are going to get it soon.

Hello,

i would suggest you to wait for a week or 2 before taking any actions. The mail from Us is usually very slow. I have had couple of experiences like yours.

Surely you will get your passport with VISA stamped on it

I can understand that u r really tensed up, but i hope and believe that u will get your passport within few days time,,,js wait...everything gonna be ok...keep me updated

i suggest that you take more time to wait for your passport. schooltime approaching and there might be so many mails to take care that delayed the delivery process.
