Passport may expire soon before landing

Hi ,

I am currently awaiting PR confirmation after the submission of ITA documentations. My passport is expiring in 1 year . In this situation i am not sure about when i can renew my passport.

What would be the process that i should be undergoing if i renew the passport :

1. Before PR confirmation.
2. After PR confirmation.

Considering my Passport is valid till medical exam expiry, I can always land in Canada even without renewing passport. But then, i am not sure of the hassles of renewing it from outside the country.

Please advise on the right process to be followed.

Renew your passport before PR confirmation so you don't have to hope it will be processed in time.

Thanks for responding . My passport will be valid before landing as I understand I must land before medicals expiring anyways.

However, if I take steps to renew the same now, would I need to keep CIC informed regarding the new passport document. How would it affect my documentations if previous passport is renewed in the middle of PR processing
