I have not been in this situation. If you do not have a valid passport by the time you are supposed to land, you will be refused.

You have to renew the passport, as it needs to be valid for at least 6 months at the time of landing. It's not optional - you must have a valid passport when you land.

Hi what’s happen to you application now? I don’t have passport to it was expired in inland spousal. I just mu medical last month.

Yeah i renewd my passport withiut any status in canada so dont worry go to your passport enbassy they will renew it for u.this guy canuk in uk was scaring me alot but see nothing happned and i got everything in order.
Everything is possible in canada dont forget.

Brother i needed some help. I am gonna apply for open work permit and Spousal sponsorship application. My passport expires mid way. And as the visa can maximum be valid till the passport expiry date( You cannot further restore or extend it), even though i get my passport renewed from the embassy, what about the visa. How can one stay here while spousal sponsorship status is implied but there is no visa. Did you get to renew your visa while in Canada too when you got the passport done

Not sure why you think you can't extend it. Provided the OWP is still valid, you can extend it once you have your new passport.

But dont i need a continued visa along with OWP, or OWP can be renewed seperately with new passport and that is implied

As OWP is usually given till the old passport expiry date.So my question is with the new passport i can just extend my work permit or needs something seperate to be done for visa.

You don't need a visa. The OWP is what gives you status. Nothing implied about it. Just apply for an extension when have your new passport.
