Passport Expiry

Hello All, My family is eligible to apply for Canadian Citizenship. However, my 5 year old daughters passport is getting expired on 30th September, 2023.

My query is, Am I eligible to apply for Citizenship and later renew my daughter passport or is it mandatory to apply citizenship with renewed passport. Nowdays with BLS Toronto, passport renewal takes more than 8 weeks. So, I planned to apply Citizenship and later update the new renewed passport for my daughter.

Request all to provide your valuable suggestions & experiences . Has anybody faced similar issues and how managed

Her passport getting expired while the application is processed doesn't matter at all. Having an expired passport before applying is also fine. A valid passport isn't a requirement for the citizenship application.
Just go ahead with the application. Also, you can of you want, but no need to notify IRCC after you renew the passport.

It does not matter if the passport is expiring at a later date.
There have been applicants who even had a gap of year or 2 in between their passport because of CoViD since they did not travel and did not bother to renew their passports as well.
