Passport Expiry

Hi,

I applied for a PR after receiving my ITA in May this year. My application has not been accepted yet and I am still waiting. My question is my passport is going to expire next year in April. I wanted to know can I renew my passport so that if my application is approved the visa is stamped on a new passport?

Or should I just let it be and can apply for a renewal after the visa is stamped on the old passport?

Also if my express entry takes longer it will be too close to my passport expiry date. Do you suggest I renew my passport beforehand?

Yes you should renew your passport now.

Okay but if I get the PR and they ask me to send my passport. Then should I send my old and new passports? because in the application the details of my old passport is mentioned?

Once you get your new passport, update IRCC through the web form about your passport renewal [along with scanned copy of first and the last bio pages].

Once you have updated them, whenever your receive a PPR, you can send in your new passport.
