Hello Everyone.

CRS Score : 462
Work Permit Expire : Feb 26th, 2017
Passport Expire : July, 2017
Current city : Toronto

I recently wrote IELTS and was able to increase my CRS score to 462 and I am hopeful that I wold get ITA very soon.
I wanted to keep all the documents ready upfront, in case I get an ITA.

As you may notice from the above information, my passport is set to expire in July 2017.
I need to PCC and Renew my passport.

I am not sure, if I should consider Getting PCC first and then aply for passport renewal or the other way around.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does your passport have any effect on your PCC processing? (do they display its number on your PCC?)

If not, it doesn't really matter. Be sure your passport is valid for at least a year from the date of applying.

Get your passport renewed, then PCC and then submit your documents. My lawyer suggested the same for me.

I was planning to do the same thing. Hopefully this will be the correct route moving forward. Thank you.

Apply for passport renewal then after getting ITA, go for PCC. You will get your PCC in single day.

I have heard that it takes about 4 - 6 weeks to get PCC ??

Do we need to get PCC from both India and Canada, if i have been in Canada in for the past 5 years.

No need for Canadian PCC. They will ask you for one IF it is needed when processing your application.

You need to get RCMP done from Canada.

That's incorrect.

"Police certificates are required up front and are mandatory for each country (except Canada) where an individual has lived for a total of six months or more."

No, what DelPiero07 said is correct.

Another link for Canada PCC instructions, which says it will only be requested if needed: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/north-america/canada.asp
