passport expired after landing, can I travel and return to Canada with my new passport?

Hello, I am PR, after landing my passport expired, I got my new passport, my question is if I can travel outside Canada and return with my passsport? or Do I have to let immigration know about my new passport?...I have my PR card valid.

YEs, you can travel with the new passport. The PR card is not linked to your passport and your new passport will have the reference to your old passport.

PR card and passport are never linked.
