congratulations i am really happy for you.
hope your landing be so smooth.
good luck.

Thank you! :)

Also do you know why there is an Expiry on copr 5 Years from now. So PR is valid only for 5 years?

you are welcome,

nope,pr is valid forever you will be a permanent resident for an indefinite time, the only thing that expires is your pr card which will have a validity of 5 years period and you can easily renew it once expired if you don't have your canadian citizenship by then.
please note that you must live 2 years out 5 from your landing date to maintain your permanent resident status.
also note that you will only need the PR card when traveling out of canada other then that its not that very important and not used frequently,i know people that their pr card has expired and never bother to renew it because they have a citizenship application in process and do not plan to travel out of canada before getting it.

Understood, was reading about that just now on this forum and a few different apps.

Now have to go to embassy to report that i found it, Police can't help as they has already sent out the alert too Embassy. So I might be a criminal on my own passport if I use it too land..lol

Lets see what they say now.

If you gotta do something right, do it yourself. That is what i learned by this ordeal.

Dropped lost notices on every apartment that have Digit 2 in it. Quite a lot of walking.

Finally a lady came forward today and dropped a notice at my place. Met her today and Got my Canada post package. 8)

Wow congratulations! So the mailman did mess up and dropped your package somewhere else. Did you require signature on delivery on the return envelope?

Hi
your address on the envelope must be correct , than i wonder why the person who received your mail never came forward by herself :)

Anyways its great that one part of your issue is solved, I hope your challenges with police and embassy to nullify your passport lost report be resolved as well
regards

I did ask for it, but they didn't care to get one.

Thank you guys for the good wishes.

I did land yesterday and had a hiccup but it all worked out..lol

Enjoyed Niagara falls...went to US as I had a US visa, stayed there for bit with my friends and the went to the counter to Land as a PR.

Not a lot of people waiting, so got called by the CBSA in like 10 minutes. Asked bunch of questions about COPR, job, family, and some general stuff.
After that the, have you been in touch Toronto Police Recently, to which I replied and told him the whole story, he asked me to sit down and wait and then the disaster waiting to happen : That Toronto police didn't update the case and there is no record of me reporting it found, so according to him, he found it and would like me to come back with police report that says i reported they found it. At this time I thought that i should have spent that $40 and got the final report. So last ditch effort, I called my nearest division to which I reported the lost/found and started asking why it is not updated.

Just turns out it takes 3-4 business days to update the case and close it, so they had a temp case number which I gave to the Officer and then he was satisfied. The officers were nice and friendly on both sides of the border.

So finally got PR, what a sigh of relief. Went to Hard rock, had a couple of sods, chicken wings and then back to Toronto as a 'PR' 8)
