Could you please tell me what shows up on place of birth? Is it city only or country only or both?Woodex said:No, it took less than 10days. Though, I apply right in the their office
Depend on the city you specified in the application form, though they will ask if you want the city and country of birth to show in your passport.Pureminded said:Could you please tell me what shows up on place of birth? Is it city only or country only or both?

The new passport have chip embedded inside which mean better security. In my opinion 10yrs is better because days goes fast this days.kumbu.bumbu said:I had a problem when I was young(<25), even within 5 years my face changed and I had few problems at air ports. If you are 25 or younger or if you think your face will change a lot withing next 5 year go for 5 year passport.
Or
Go for 10 years. Save some money and also save us some time in renewal process.

The problem with not listing your birth place and country in your passport, is that some countries may not even allow you to enter without that information available. Not sure which countries but I have read some countries that doesn't like missing info like birth place.Woodex said:Thanks, for that info
maybe Middle East countries. Why would someone want to hide his/her birth country?screech339 said:The problem with not listing your birth place and country in your passport, is that some countries may not even allow you to enter without that information available. I wonder if US is one of them. They probably doesn't want Dual Americans to use Canadian Passport with missing birth place to avoid being accused of being American avoiding filing taxes.Woodex said:maybe Middle East countries. Why would someone want to hide his/her birth country?
