Hello Hello Hello:cool:!

Looking for Internationally Educated Teachers to participate in a short survey:

Are you an Internationally Educated Teacher (IET) who was recertified in Canada?
Do you currently work in the Canadian school system?
Are you recertified but do not currently work as a teacher?
Or, did you not complete the recertification process?

We want to hear from you to better understand the professional trajectory of IETs in Canada!

We are writing to invite you to participate in our research study exploring the recertification experiences of Internationally Educated Teachers (IETs). We would like to invite you to fill a survey with questions about your experiences with teacher recertification processes from the perspective of someone who has navigated these processes. This research will be used to produce recommendations to policy makers, teacher regulators, and academic institutions to ensure an equitable process for teacher recertification in Canada. It aims to support the successful integration of IETs in the Canadian teaching force.

In the survey you will be asked to share some background information, your experience in the recertification program and job seeking process, and your current status. If you are willing to be contacted for a follow-up interview you will have an option to fill your contact information at the end of the survey and one of our research team will contact you to provide more details. All contact information will be taken out, and data will be presented at aggregate levels in all writings and presentations.

We believe this is an important issue to explore in order to improve IET recertification processes and increase the diversity of the teaching force in Canada, and would appreciate you sharing your perspectives to inform this research. To find out more please find the link [surveymonkey.ca/r/iet_survey] to the survey, with the first two pages being a consent form.

Thank you for considering supporting this study. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at hxa38@sfu.ca or the Principal Investigator, Dr. Lilach Marom, by email at lilach.marom@sfu.ca.

Sincerely,
Han
