Hello guys,
I have a question regarding part time work during my undergrad course. I used to work almost 24 hours each week , and I have regularly worked for 18 months. So in total my work hours was : 24*4*18= 1728 hours. So can anyone kindly provide me information, whether I can get points for 1 year work experience ? As per cic website it must be 1565 hours to be considered for 1 year work experience.

If you have done this work outside Canada under legal status and it was continuous (short paid holiday is ok) work and also was NOC 0 A or B type then yes you can claim one year work experience.

Good Luck!

Thank you for your prompt response. Yes it was outside of canada and it was totally legal. The problem is I was full time student at that time. Although being a full time student, I managed to work for that much amount of time. Does my status of full time student gonna affect that?

Not at all. I was a Manager of a McDonald's Branch in UK while I was a full time student. I have claimed points for that. My application is in progress and I am hoping for PR in next couple of months. It is absolutely fine to claim such work experience points if that is outside Canada.

Good Luck!

Wow, congratulations Ishq74, you're so close to your goal.
I have a similar situation.
I am quiet confused about choosing NOC. One of the job I did was as a health educator in NGO but I did that job at the same time when I was doing my bachelor's degree. This job comes under NOC 4165. The descriptions provided on CIC website mentioned following employment requirements for NOC 4165.:

Employment requirements
A bachelor's degree or college diploma in health science, public administration, recreation administration or hospital administration, or a bachelor's degree in social science, is required.
A graduate degree in health, social science or an administrative discipline may be required.
Several years of experience in the health field as a health care professional or as a community or social service worker are usually required.

Can you kindly suggest me if my educational level at the time of that particular job really matters or still I can claim points for that?

Note: The applicant does not need to demonstrate that they meet the “employment requirements” listed in the NOC occupational description.

But as you mentioned that, you never were on the payroll of the college, then how is the college supposed to issue you a reference letter. IRCC is very smart, they might end up asking for a tax return or pay-slips which you may not be able to produce.
