Part-time Work Experience Shown while studying - Received ITA

Hello,

I recently received the ITA. In my submitted EE profile I have shown 4 years of experience but in error 1 year (out of the 4 years shown) is from the paid part time TA position while I was in school. I came across the CIC instruction that the part time work experience while studying should not be counted towards work experience requirements.

Now that I have received an ITA and this experience is already in my submitted EE profile, any advice on the best way to move forward? My CRS score is 472 and 69 points under FSW. .

I appreciate the help. Thanks!

Not enough information, was this work experience in Canada or outside of Canada?

If outside then you can count this work experience for CRS points.

The work experience is outside Canada. NOC 4012. I am concerned as it mentioned that experience gained while studying should not be counted.

Should the experience letters and everything for this work ex as well then, right?

You can claim points for a max of 3 years of foreign work experience. If your "experience in hours + part time exp. in hours" >= 3 years of full-time hours, then you will be fine. Just make sure you aren't short of days - only full years count and not a day less. If you don't then decline the ITA and re-apply. Otherwise, you risk waiting 6 months and then learn your application was declined.

Yup. I have 3 full years of experience (after removing the part time experience). I was mainly concerned if the part time experience can be construed as misrepresentation at time of EE profile submission.

Sorry, my post was a little bit misleading. Just recalculate your CRS score with 3 years of experience and if the new score does not fall below the minimum ITA score for the round you're applying, you will be fine.
