Part time in the middle of the semester - Can I get my PGWP denied for that?

Hi,

I'm currently taking two 1 year certificates at BCIT since fall term of 2015. I will complete my certifications next term, after 2 years of study.
I was hoping I could get 2 to 3 years PGWP with this two certifications.

The problem is, the school canceled one course of 1.5 credits that was supposed to start in the middle of the term one or two weeks before it starts (it was already in the middle of the term), making me have only 8 credits. Then I registered myself in any other course so I would have 9 credits again, but one more time, the other course was also canceled. After the two consecutive cancellations, I couldn't register myself in any other course.

In my next term, the last one, I will also do 8 credits. Because there`s no more courses to complete, but I read over here that in the last term it`s acceptable.

My questions are:

- What kind of problems can I have when applying for PGWP because of that?
- Should I do 9 credits next term or it won`t change a thing?
- One of this courses in the last term, isn`t from my certificates. If I cancel it, I will do only 5 credits. Is it too little, even for last term?

Thanks in advance,

Actually, I have another question :)

What is GPA? Currently, I have 39,50 hours with two more terms to go. (I did 11 to 10 credits in my first terms)

Btw, this is what my school has to talk about it:

Taking less than a full course load during your last semester is acceptable.

As for last term’s 8 credits, I can’t promise how your future letter will read. Generally speaking, you have done your best to take the proper course load and have not taken any terms off, so your academic history looks fine. If you are really worried, take a full course load next term.

You can go part time anytime if you don't want a PGWP. But remember;

1. School has 'nothing to do' with your PGWP and immigration. They aren't responsible for it at all.
2. CIC isn't going buy any excuse as why you went part time. It's purely a matter between you and your school. Straight rule - No PGWP for a part time student.
3. You can be part time in last term if that's the only course left to graduate.

Hi,

But even if I do 9 credits in my last term I won`t be accepted for PGWP? I did 9 or more credits in all the other terms, can`t I be accepted as if that term that I did 8 was my last one? I`ve planned and paid a lot for this, it would be a disaster if I have my PGWP cancelled because of that..
