Part-time CPA Studies under PGWP

Hi everyone,

I am posting to ask those who already did their CPA studies and obtained their PR. For those who did their studies either with CPAWSB or CPA Atlantic School of Business (study permit required), did these part-time studies impact the points eligibility of your work experience during your PGWP time under either CEC or any other PNP programs? Any responses would be highly appreciated!

[I ONLY PREFER RESPONSES FROM THOSE WHO ALREADY DID CPA CANADA AND EVENTUALLY OBTAINED THEIR PR. FOR ANYONE WHO DID NOT UNDERGO THIS ROUTE BUT WOULD LIKE TO OFFER YOUR TAKE, I APPRECIATE IT BUT PLEASE JUST PASS TRHOUGH MY THREAD WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING AS THIS IS CRITICAL FOR MY NEXT YEAR IMMIGRATION-RELATED PLANNING SO I ONLY WANT RELEVANT RESPONSES].

Didn’t do the courses but in general CPA programs have not counted as a diploma and added points.

I am talking about the impact on my PGWP work experience if part-time CPA studies are undertaken during my time as a PGWP holder (yes, we can apply for a separate study permit for CPA studies as CPA Atlantic School of Business is a DLI).

I have already been doing my master here in Canada. Will graduate next year, get PGWP and begin working.

Hello,

Yes. Should be fine for us to study CPA on a part-time basis while working full-time under PGWP. All you have to do is to apply for a study permit and the CPA School is able to provide you with an LOA. The work experience earned will still be counted for CRS points for either CEC, federal skilled worker or any PNP programs as the CPA studies are only part-time.
