Hi dear all,
this post is just to inform that I had applied for my parents visitors visa on 2nd aug.2013. I had filled applications by myself & my parents got their visa approved on 8th aug.2013.
I had filled all the forms by myself.as agents were charging $500 - $1200 for the same. If anyone needs information regarding same .then i might be helpful.

My mother got rejected on the ground of family ties. how did you proof that? could you please help me by giving some clues.
thanks

My parents side - insurance for 6 months( i got from canada),parents property documents(flats),bank statement(3.5 lakh),
Also in family information form had entered information of my brother & sisters living in india.

Your title says

Visitor visa is different from PR

Paul - basically officer needs to be satisfied that person will leave Canada after visit - is she living alone in India?

HI user828
yes my mother is alone in back home. I applied twice with bank stmt, property doc for her and Job etc from my side. did not work. Rejected twice for the same ground of not having ties with country.

They prefer extensions which is easy to get, my folks came for 6 moths, we extended 6 months and now 12 months

..thats the issue, they feel she has no one to go back to. BTW, mother has to show assets, bank balance, travel history - stuff where it shows she can go back to

no its not on the family ties back home. my aunt who is a widowed was granted visit visa to canada. as long as you and your mother meet and satisfied the visa officer that your(mother) can come back to country of origin and you can support her in her stay in canada for the duration of stay. we submitted the application of my aunt and my mom here in the philippines. our relatives sent us the following: t4,pr card copies/proof of citizenship and invitation letter(notarized) and lastly certificate of employment. and we here in the philippines submitted the show money cost >12,000 CAD $ estimation in philippines peso (my mom)and for my aunt only 2,000CAD$ only with land properties. that would be all

Hi USER828 and PAUL

nothing will work once it's been determined by any officer that week family ties in home country. I have applied for my mother 3 times and got rejected only because of that reason.
she visited canada 2 times 2008 & 2011
visitited USA 4 times
has an apartment and lots of lands on her name
has about 12,000 CAD in savings in local bank (Bangladesh)
the only problem is my father passed away last year and my only brother lives here in Canada as well.
So, it is very hard to make the officer beleive that she would return home after 2-3 months of visit.

even though CPC mississauga has approved her PR application which is currenly with Singapore office.(it will take about another 4 years as per their web)

anyways good luck to you. Thank you both .

Hi toronto 30
Mine is the same as yours. My father passed away and it was an accident. My only brother is also in Canada. No one there except hers. Propertywise plenty of assets ( land, houses, bank balance) under her name. Nothing worked out.
Only god can help us.
