Parents Visitor Visa

I would like my parents to attend my wedding in October so they will be applying for a visitor visa. We were told that the earliest they can apply is 3 months before their date of travel. My father is a retired police officer in the Philippines and reading the posts in the forum, I noticed that the backgroumd checks for military/police officers tend to run longer.

Can someone please comfirm that qe cannot apply no earlier than 3 months before their intended visit?

are you applying online? If so you can certainly apply earlier. if you are applying via paper it can depend on the visa office and their specific guidelines
