Hello,

I need a help from you guys. I want to invite my parents back in India on visitor visa. I am in Canada from last 4 years. I am currently on my work permit which is going to expire this June but I have already applied for federal PR and already got a decision made and waiting for passport call.
1. Should I wait for passport call before applying their visa?
2. My dad works for Gov in India and he is retiring in July, Is it going be difficult to get a visa after his retirement?
3. I am mostly interested in regular visitor visa then super visa. What are your thoughts?
4. How much balance do I need to show here?
5. How can I or my parents start process?
6. How long it's gonna take for the approval?

Sorry, I know it's lot of questions but I am totally confuse. I will really appreciate your help.

Hi,

I may be able to answer few questions of yours:

1 - I would recommend you to wait till you get your PR in hand. This will make your parents case stronger when they apply for Visit visa
2 - No it will not be difficult. actually it will make your case stronger when you will be sending invitation letter to your parents then you can easily mention them dad has retired and wanted to have some change over and now he has time to visit the new country which he failed to do so in past due to his busy schedule. so he wants to enjoy the retirement. Make sure your dad has some ties (reason to go back to India)
3 - it depends on your family decision. do you want them to visit you once ? if so then regular visit visa would do else if you want them to visit you frequently then super is best. but you can also get visit visa then apply for super visa in tht way immigration officer will see that you parents entered Canada on time and left on time so thy can have super visa.
4 - you need to meet LICO amount mentioned on cic website. based on your family members in Canada (living with you) + your parents. E.g there are 2 additional members besides you (your wife and child) and 2 parents (dad & mom) so total of 5 members in family so as per LICO you annual income should be CAD $ 50,290
5 - you need to follow the Temp Visit visa checklist follow that checklist you will be done
6 - depends on how organize is your application is.

Good Luck !
Best,
S

Hi

I applied for my Parents' TRV online and I got a letter asking to send passport. My parents went to VFS Chennai and submitted the passport.

Funny thing is- For my father's tracking number, we got an email stating the passport is forwarded to Delhi.

But for my mother's, online status says passport is forwarded to Bangalore.

Which one to believe?

How can my father's PP go to Delhi but my mother's go to Bangalore (I applied online for them together in the same application file).

Brgds
