Hello everyone,

My mother is visiting in Canada on visitor visa which will expire early next month. We would like to apply for her extension.

After filling initial questionnaire on online it shows the below 3 options-
1) Family Class - Parents and grandparents
(You may be eligible to come to Canada through Family Class Sponsorship)

2) Visitors (in Canada)
(You may be eligible to extend your stay in Canada as a visitor/tourist)

3) Super Visa (in Canada)
(You may be eligible to extend your stay in Canada using a parent and grandparent super visa)

As option 1) and 2) are straight forward. But as I know Super Visa can only be applied outside of Canada. So I have following questions, will appreciate your help.

Q1) Does the option mean I can extend her stay via super visa (sort of conversion)? If so, anybody applied via same procedure and got approved?

Q2) Or, does it mean it is only for people who already in Canada via Super Visa and now wants to extend (I am confused as I entered all visitor visa related information and also mentioned that she is currently in Canada as visitor)?

Thanks in advance

You can’t convert a visitor visa to a Supervisa
One can only apply for it outside the country

you’d be extending there stay on the visitor visa they currently have

Option one is currently closed
Your only option is two

Supervisa isn’t even in the equation, since they don’t currently hold one
No conversion

Thanks for your reply, appreciate that.

I was confused about option 3) as I provided all information from visitor visa extension perspective in the questionnaire. Is it common they show 3) option to all?
