Parents Supervisa Application

Hi experts,

I am asking about Supervisa application. I have lost my job last year in December and still could not find a job (I will be doing my MSc instead from January). My EI Payments are also completed. As per my Letter of assessment (LOA) for 2022 and 2023 (the latest one) I do meet the minimum cutoff requirements. I do have enough bank balance to be able to support my parents. So for the proof of Minimum Cut-off Income Requirements, I can use my LOA. But for proof of funds, is my bank balance enough, will no cash coming in to my bank account be a problem for my application? Or can my parents show that they have ties to their home country (owning a house) and enough cash in their bank balance would help me in this regard?

Your cooperation is highly appreciated.

Impossible to say whether your longterm unemployment will be an issue or not. The fact that you will be studying and not working for years may also be a concern. Your parents have the option of visiting on a regular TRV so something to consider.

They do have the regular TRV right now. I am thinking of keeping them on TRV as no point in applying for SuperVisa when the chances of rejection are high in my scenario. And having a rejection would also hurt their chances in the future right?

If you have RRSP that you can withdrawn or other investment income or ways to increase your 2024 income, you may still be able to maintain your LICO. Not meeting LICO will mean that you cannot apply to the interest to sponsor your parents in case that pool is opened again.

So if the rules don't change in the near future, you can't apply until 3 years after you resume working full time to meet LICO. I know that I am not sticking to the topic of supervisa but PGP is something that needed to be planned or at least attempt.

Thanks for the response @YVR123. I was asking about the odds of getting Supervisa in the future
We don't know for sure. But you have to declare any previous visa refusal. IRCC will then look at the application with all factors.
If they are OK for shorter trip for now, then they do not need to apply for SuperVisa.

Not sure what the issue is they should just use their TRV and visit you. If genuinely just visiting you up to 6 months is a lot of time.
