Parents sponsorship, please suggest

Hi, I want to apply for my parents sponsorship to Canada. But recently I have read somewhere that under section 117 (9)(d) family members not mentioned in the application for permanent resident are not eligible to be sponsored in the future. I am not sure if parents and grandparents come under this section. When I applied for immigration, my consultant suggested there is no need to mention parents in the application, so I did not disclose this at that time. I would appreciate if someone could suggest on this. Thanks
