Hi everyone,

after 4 years of waiting, we finally received a letter asking to submit all the required documents
Both my brothers were under 22, when we filed the parents sponsorship. But now, they are both over 22.
In the checklist (which is automatically created) we received from CIC, it says the following:

Proof of continuous full-time studies of all dependent children aged 22 or over, including:
complete school records/transcripts since attaining age 22;
letters from the schools indicating the number of hours of classes attended per day, and the number of days attended per week;
proof of full financial support by parents since reaching age 22.

Do we have to prove that they were studying although they were under 22 at the time of application?

Please advise.

Thanks.

Someone who had the same experience, please advise me. Thanks

Since they are asking, you should provide these documents. However, even if the dependents did not attend school after the age of 22, they should still be fine, because they were below 22 when their application was received by CIC. If I were you, I would also write a cover letter when sending the transcripts and would mention in my cover letter that they were below 22 and that their ages were locked in (bonus if you can provide the link from CIC website) - just to reduce the likelihood of a human error on CIC's part. Good luck!

Thanks, YYZguy416, for your reply.
I will add a cover letter as you suggested.

Even if they were under 22 at time of application, they are asking for current status'. Are your brothers still financially dependent on your parents since turning 22. Have either of them entered into a common law relationship with someone, had children, married? They are essentially asking for an 'update' on their current status'. While they would not need to be enrolled full time in school, CIC still needs to know they are still financially dependent upon your parents.

Thanks Alurra71.
If my letter write a letter explaining that my brothers are still financially dependent on them, would it be sufficient?

They were under locked age.. but they are asking for above 22 and thy dont fall under that

Thanks, petersiddle28.
Just to confirm: Does it mean we don't need to prove that they are financially dependent?
Thanks.

Can someone please answer my question? Thanks.

No, you do not have to provide this information as the age was locked at the time of application.
but do not mention if they are having any incomes as they need to remain dependent no matter where are they right now.

Also, they should not be married too.
