Hello All,

I know that we can sponsor parents for PR only after you have stayed in Canada for more than 2 years & show certain $$.

But I'm planning on bringing them on super visa for now and down the lane I want to initiate their PR (in-land).
Can that be done.??

Thanks for your help.

I'm really confused right now. How do I sponsor them.??

I want to bring them here in a few months and two years down the lane I want to sponsor them.

Please guide me.

Thanks in advance!

You must meet the minimum income requirement in Canada for 3 years, not 2.

You can sponsor them while they are here in Canada but the app will be processed outland, not inland.

There is no such rule regarding 2 years. There is only a requirement to show Canadian income for 3 consecutive years.

So if someone recently arrived in Canada as a PR in 2016, and has income in Canada meeting the parents LICO amount for 2016, 2017 and 2018, then waits additional year for all tax information, they can possibly apply for their parents in January 2020 assuming rules stay the same.
