Parents Sponsorship 2017 discussion

Just a question though:
I am applying to sponsor my parents in Quebec.
I just got a job since 2016 May.
Am I considered financial capable to sponsor my parents ?
 
Just want to add that my income is above minimum requirement. But I have only worked fulltime since May 2016. Am I considered eligible?

I received an email for CIC this morning and I got selected to apply for my parents Permanent residency in Canada.

As long as total 2016 income meets the Quebec financial amount (where only 1 year income is required), then you would be fine. How many months you worked is not relevant, only number relevant is the tax year totals.

This means you would have had to make approx $40K (assuming family size of 3) in 2016 from May - Dec.
 
I am doubting the real numbers of submissions versus selected entries as per IRCC claims. Sound to more more people are invited than the ratio shows (1:9.5). Anyone smell something fishy about this program like me?http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/pgp-interest.asp
 
I still haven't received anything, even though a few people received their emails already. Anybody else in the same boat?

My wife was arrived in Canada in mid of the 2014 and got a part time job but she is not making that much money that require in income chart for 3 persons.

do she still eligible for parent sponsorship. as she got email from IRCC too. is it necessary to meet all the requirement for year 2014,2015,2016 ?

Why didnt you read about that before you applied. no she is not eligible if she doesnt meet the income requirement for 2014.

Thanks for wasting some eligible applicant's spot.

This is stupid. So many people might be ineligible if they dont meet the criteria

You'd be really stupid if you think someone ineligible filling the form will waste a spot. Of course if s/he is not eligible then s/he will be disqualified and the spot will be given to someone eligible.

and BTW CIC uploaded detailed requirements few days after they made form available. So stop shaming people who filled the forms.

I filled this form twice from my side and from my sibling's side even though I was 99% sure that I won't be eligible... You have a problem?

And even if it does waste a spot... why do I care? .. I am not getting selected anyway so why not take a few more people down with me...

There is a saying in URDU language,... "Hum tou dobay hain sanam tumko bhi lay dobain ge"... Translation: Since I am drowning so I will take you with me.. LOL
