Parents Sponsorship - #2014

Hello,

I have a quick question. I'm about to sponsor my parents under the family class. Looking at the CIC website, the forms to be submitted and documentation is pretty simple but I suspect that is only one half of the coin.

My assumption is that filling out Application to Sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking [IMM 1344] & Financial Evaluation for Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship [IMM5768] is the first step once approved there would be a "sponsee" application to be submitted by my parents.

Am I correct in this assumption? If so can anyone list out what would be required from them so we can proactively prepare. I searched through the CIC website but was unable to find any documentation relevant to 2014 application.

Also if there are other folks sponsoring their parents in 2014, please do comment. Would love to hear back from you and possibly collaborate.

Thanks!

The parents sponsorship for 2014 is long finished. 5000 cap was reached back in January.

You can however apply in 2015, they are accepting application as of Jan 2, 2015. Most likely the 5000 cap will be filled in less than 2 weeks.

Thanks for the reply. I actually meant Jan 2015 to apply.

Once the application is submitted and I am approved as a sponsor then is there a secondary application that would be filled out on behalf of my parents?

Any details on this process would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

We have a post here dedicated to 2015 Parent/Grandparent application.
Look for the subject "Sponsoring Parents in 2015" (don't know why but it won't let me post link...)
I'm new to this forum. The post helps me clearing out a lotta confusions.
