Actually, my point was more from your perspective. You have told them that your folks are traveling so even if they were to request PP, they might delay it as they knopw they are in Canada for 6 months

My file is in CPP-O, so PPR will come from Ottwa for either Seattle or New Delhi.... If they decide PPR for Seattle, then there may not be a delay.... as my parents are in Canada and can quickly get their passports stamped.... However, if CPP-O decides to issue PPR for New Delhi, then there could be a delay, as they would think that my parents would not travel back to India soon and might delay the PPR. Thanks for pointing that out....

I think I should email CPP-O asking for which office they will issue PPR. OR saying if the PPR is for New Delhi then my parents will fly back to India ASAP for stamping... Any suggestions?

Congratulations to all who got Visas and passport requests.

I am loving this speed now.Looks like they will reach their target for 2012 .
I hope ,being a LVO case ,that after Ottawa they will concentrate on LVO's and start sending meds and PPR from there.Amen.

Its kinda catch-22, coz I did see another user from India who did get PP request from Seattle, interestingly his parents were in Canada but now back home..so seeing that email from ND, I am really confused as they warn u not to send PP via mail and on the other hand, requests passport from a 3rd country. Now, the email also says not by mail or courier - so does that mean, another person can carry it? with authorization.
They should be making things convenient and not tougher

So my friend, I really don't know what to say - its a toss up

received GCMS notes today... nothing has changed since medicals passed in August... Criminality, Security, Eligibility - not started... looks like nobody has touched the file for 2 months :(

I received mine too.
The biiiiiiig news is that my mom's medical are passed. There is also that note: Has a condition whose impact on social 7 health services is not sufficient to exclude admissibility under article....

Her eligibility is also passed (looks like it was strictly linked to CSQ, as we live in Quebec).

Security & Criminality is nothing [blank]. I'm not sure if my mom will be assesed on them, as I also found a note in her GCMC: PA above age (she's >75).

Have you ever heard about older parents skipping Crminality & Security?
She did provide a PC, in March 2011, when she deposed her file at LVO, which, obviously, expired before someone start working on her file.

navv89, could you please help us and scan the 4-5 page letter that you received from ND? Or you could just use your phone camera to take pics and post those.

Thx.

One Immigration Consultant told me "CIC may not do background checks for older parents". Not sure how true it is though.

I have confusion regarding checking ecas status. If I put my Dad's (principle applicant) information with the file number, I don't get any information and it says to make sure that information is correct and the other case is that the service is available for the applications in process It doesn't work even with his UCI number. I can check the information just with my information. How you guys check the ecas status using your parents information?

I believe you can only see on E-cas the parents' info if the file is with CPP-O?

Nope, it can be anywhere

Our e-file still reads – application received. However, today I got an email which is advising mom to submit her passport at the Canadian embassy in our homeland.
Mom is here in visit. Also, the email indicates the following:
Please note that if you are already in Canada and have valid temporary resident status, you now have the option of obtaining your permanent resident status in Canada as opposed to leaving Canada and re-entering at a port of entry. Please contact CIC’s Call Centre at 1-888-242-2100 as soon as possible to arrange an appointment with the nearest Citizenship and Immigration office to your place of residence. (You cannot call this number if you are outside Canada.)

So, my question to you is: Is anyone in the same situation? and if so, Have you been able to book an appointment with the nearest CIC office?
Your help in this matter would be highly appreciated.
Thank you kindly : )
