Somebody told me that MAXIMUM it's total 2000days process for family cases.
Counting from File recieved by cic till decision made & visa stamped.
It's been 1958days in my case. Hopefully I should get results in remaining 42days
Then.

Any comments ? How true it is?

There is no maximum time limit for finalization of cases.

I am in the same boat e _status is in process it says that we start processing your applucation on march 1,2013 but no medical request yet. I did order GCMS in starting of feb,2013 and got the response that medical is in process and they said they sent bulk email in dec,2012 for medical, pc etc. But i didnot recived
Any email. We send the email to new delhi that we didnot recive anyemail in dec,2012. Still no response from them.

What happened if i missed the deadline for medical test submission because i didn't receive their email request. Will my application get rejected
and cancel? This is frustrating. Can i call them directly? Do they ever take phone call? The email method sucks for me this time. I don't know what to do now?

If you read few pages back ( or see my archived posts ), I went through exact same ordeal. I found out via GCMS that papers were requested but due to an incorrect email, and boy I panicked as I missed the deadline
Ashleen = confirms that gcms said paperwork was requested
Happyguy = You are assuming at this time ( Order GCMS notes, see my signature )

Points to Ponder
* DON'T PANIC * - They don't just close the file, when the file processing starts they attempt to contact you by phone
As you can see, the email we missed was actually a generic one sent in bulk, you will be surprised that they might not ask everything again ( as in my case ), just old activities, passport and meds ( no travel form either )

Now - most will not recommend this but if you can save time ( aka Ashleen's case ) but going to the Doc and getting meds done, give them UCI and File #. Believe you me, I got it done before they actually sent me the *Outside India* med forms but doctor was good enough to ask RMO to update my folks file with that info. Now I have meds received

Ashkeen's case - I have already replied via PM but you just need to wait for them to reply you via the case specific system ( forget faxes, they don't bother with case related issues there )
OR ( if you get lucky by me)
Called ND, sounded desperate with words like Canadian Citizen looking for help, I am afraid file is closed and I need help please. They transferred me to some voice mail where I described my issue and got an email reply saying we corrected your email and immigration will get in touch with you.
I could never get that voice mail option ever again, they denied its existence the next time I tried to call

So, they called my friends phone in India searching for my father, this was due to either:
The Voicemail
My emails to them
MP Inquiry ( they basically told me file started processing Jan 23, background checks will be done after Feb 22 )- that's all

Happy guy, do keep sending emails but get GCMS and check the status as there are many who still haven't received any requests and they are mostly file which went to Delhi around September

Congrats harry, can you post a timeline of your e-cas status updates if any. The sheet did not have any so am not sure if your status changed directly from application received to decision made or did it change to in process.

Hey canadian007..welcome to the forum. You should get the request in 2-3 months time.. We got the med request after 6 months, once our file got transferred to islamabad. Also u can have a look at the spreadsheet that raja ji is maintaining.. You will have a clear idea about the timelines.. Best of luck.. The link to the spreadsheet is:

I am a new member of this Forum, I visit daily, All members are very cooperative, my son placed my family file ( parents&grand parents + dependent ).
Application Filed..........28Dec 2007.
I had received a letter of transfer of file to the DELHI office on 9-4-2012.
As well as received and answered a requirement of document of SPONSOR'S birth certificate (copy). &copy of old Ind. Passport -detail 22-11-2012.

Till today I have-not come to access any further communication from DELHI.

CAN ANY BODY HELP ME/ TELL ME WHAT MAY BE THE FURTHER PROCEDURE?
