A noob question. Just how do we check for the online status of the application? Try as I might, it cannot find my record online. I am trying to enter the receipt number and my mom's dob.

my timeline:
Oct 2008: Applied for sponsoring my mother.
Nov 2011: Received letter from CPC-M to submit IMM008 etc
Jan 2012 second week: submitted all relevant docs.
Awaiting for any response ever since.

Where do I get the client id from? The letter I received from CIC does not mention it anywhere
