Our lvo was Paris office. Dependents were below 18 when we filed the application.
We submitted all educational documents for them to the lvo as well as PCC's.
the e-cas is DM in the PR part, since the PPR time.

yes that's all that is provided initially by ATIP.
Now just wait for the GCMS notes which will arrive in about 1 month from date of filing.

Hi Sumair,

If you would like to add your sister, you can try. I don't think it will affect your application negatively. It may or may not delay your application, but other than that I don't see any harm in trying to add her. Worst case scenario they won't let you add her, but that shouldn't affect your sponsorship application.

@YYZguy416, do you think it is possible that CIC may object on the grounds that 2009 income (year I applied) was not sufficient? Even though, my income in 2012 is comfortably over the LICO for a family of 5.
The concern to me is that they reject me as a sponsor based on 2009 income. Really double minded about this :-\ I will call CIC... may be they can help.

Hi sumair,

That is a very specific question, and I am afraid I don't know the answer and I wouldn't like to speculate. Even if you call CIC, it's no guarantee that they will give you the right answer. Maybe you should consult a good lawyer.

We finally have decision made on the application of my mother. Here is the timeline:


Applied October 2009
Approved in Canada and sent to India for processing June 19th 2012
Medical Request Received: July 25th 2013
Passport Request: Sep 25th 2013

Letter days passport will be returned in 20 days and if approved she has till 14 Aug 2014 to land...

Had a talk with my local MP today,per him cases were medicals are expiring soon the lvo will extend the medicals to 15 months means they can/will delay file for 3 more months.

my including many applicants are having there medical expiring in oct......God bless!!!

Hi,

I am glad to see that Parents visa are being issued despite the strike, what a relief it is to those who already received the Visa.

I applied for my parents immigrant visa in Nov 2009.

File transferred to New Delhi in 2012 May.
Initial Medical request December 31, 2013
Additional Medicals: May 15, 2013
Medical Results received : June 10, 2013
Police clearance from Bahrain March 04, 2013
US Police Clearance July 20, 2013.

As of July 20, 2013 I have completed all requirements, but still waiting.

Could it be that my file is waiting for security/Background clearance or could it be waiting in queue to be processed.

I appreciate your opinion.

Which visa office you applied from? I also applied in Dec 2009. Now additional document request came. I will send docs next week, and then I beleive the application will be transfered to Islamabad. I am not sure how long it will take from there. Some are saying a year and other are saying 5 more years.

Hello,

Just joined the forum and looking for some advice.
First, the application details:

• Application Type: Sponsorship (Parents w/ One dependent only)
• Application Date: 2009-12-30
• Acknowledgement Letter: 2010-01-18
• CPC Mississauga Letter: 2013-08-02

My family:
Father
Mother
Me
Sister A (now married)
Sister B (student of Medicine)
Sister C (pursuing an MBA and the dependent in application)

Now that I have to send documents within 90 days (2013-11-02), I am wondering a few things:
> Status of Sister C
- She turned 22 in June 2013 and completed her undergraduate degree in June 2013 but has enrolled in MBA for October 2013.
- Is there a possibility that the short break (July-September) will be seen as a 'break' from full-time studies?

> Add Sister B to my application:
- I applied for my parents and my youngest sister (Sister C) only, as in 2009, my income would only be eligible for a family of 4 even though all my sisters were dependent on my parents. In addition, I anticipated that these applications take a long time and I wasn't sure what would be the status of my sisters. Indeed, one of my sisters (Sister A) got married and is no longer a dependent.
- My income is above the 2013-LICO for 5 family member (49, 102) but it is below the new regulations that will come in to effect January 2014 (2013-LICO + 30% = 63,833)
- Both Sisters B and C are now above 22 years old but both of them have been dependent on my parents/me as they are full time students.
- Is there any chance Sister B can be included in the application? I think from a government point of view, it is a win-win situation that they would allow two non-economic persons but offsetting them are two highly educated dependents almost ready to enter workforce (and thus pay taxes). But from legal/CIC perspective, my 2009 income is not eligible for 5 dependents neither would be the current income as per "future" rules.

The CIC representative indicated that a dependent cannot be added at this stage of the application. However, if the dependent was added to the application initially as non-accompanying, the status of that dependent can be modified to accompanying (or vice-versa).
