Hi

Just a quick question my parents live in Mexico & have been trying for a visa for 5 years the application is on the last stages but i have been told it will take atleast another 3 years. My parents are advising me to now sponser them as they believe this will be a quicker way to get from mexico to canada. Therefore I will have 2 applications going through the system. Any advice on this?

My second issue is that I live in Canada & my partner (were not married) lives in the UK. I am hoping to at some point in the future marry & sponser my partner but can I still do this if I having sponsered my parents. Doesnt the sponsership last for 10years? Is there any other way around this??

Any advice appreciated thank you.

You cant have two applications in at the same time. And if your parents are trying for a visa pr and they already have an app in they must withdraw that app before you can apply for them.Parents sponsorship takes approximately 4 years.
Sponsoring your partner you can either go common law or spousal, common law you must live with each other 12 months before you apply. And have proof of you living together. But if you plan to marry then once your married can apply right away after you marry, and you will have to prove that relationship to.
So if you plan on getting married and sponsor your partner in the next year then you can tsponsor your parents until that one is done.
Also to sponsor your spouse there is no income requirement,to sponsor your parents there is.
Hope this helps you a bit to make a decision.

Your parents' current application will probably be done before any new application where they are sponsored by you would be done. I'd say they should stay with the current application. For you to sponsor them, they would have to cancel the current application.
