Parents on Visitor visa - coming to canada .. leaving from US

Hi All,
My parents are planning to come to Canada to stay with me for 5-6 months on visitor visa and then go visit my sister in US and leave from US back to India. They will not be reentering Canada.

Is it okay? The travel agent is asking me to book a return ticket as they say it will be required for immigration. How true is that?
Do they need to provide with all the travel dates and flight tickets between India- Canada and US to immigration officer/ during check in ?

What the travel agent saying is BS. Multi city trips should be fine so long they can show they’re going back to India only if the officer requests to see the tickets. Usually it’s just an interview.
