Hi guys, my parents are here on super visa as of April 2019 for the first time, while my mom will be staying with us long term (2 years at a time), my father would much rather prefer to stay in India 6 months and 6 months here due to the colder weather here and he is still able to be independent with some help from distance relatives in India..

My mom however does have high BP (managed for the most part), degree of scoliosis and arthritis. I do have super visa insurance that includes pre-existing conditions but I am aware that it is for emergency purposes only.

Reason I am interested is so that I could get her health coverage via OHIP to keep her health maintained rather than wait until she is not in good health as she has had few episodes in the past couple of years with her BP that have been worrisome.

We do not have any immediate family in India as my 1 sibling is here (settled and citizen) and another sibling is in another country (settled and citizen).

I would like to Sponsor her as a caregiver (we have a <1 year old at home) if there is a pathway for that as I do not meet the requirements for Parents-Grand-Parents Permanent Sponsor ship just yet, it will be at least 2 more years as for 2018 I met the requirements, but will need to met for 2019, 2020 and apply in 2021. My end goal is to spend as much time as possible with my parents, especially my mom as I worry she wont be around for as long as I would love for her to be.

Since both my parents are alive, I am not sure if I would meet the grounds for H&C.

If anyone has any intelligent advice on how I can approach this or what options I have, I would greatly appreciated.

Generally it's more difficult to get a relative approved as a caregiver since IRCC will often suspect the true motive of the application is to find a path for immigration. Also note that your mother will have to pass a medical as part of the application process. Agreed H&C is an absolute no go given her husband is still alive and happy to travel back and forth between Canada and the home country.

What and how much full time and paid work experience does your mother have in the caregiver field within the last three years? If no work experience, does your mother have any formal education in this field within the last three years? (If so, was the program full time and how long was it?)

My mother does not have any paid work experience, she was a homemaker, as most women are in rural Indian communities. She has been spending time with my sibling abroad for the past 3 years, 1 year at a time on visitor visa, helping watch the kids when they were at work as I couldn't get her a Visa in that time due to my own financial situation here in Canada. I am in a much better place now than ever before so things are looking different for the future in the meantime.

I know it probably wouldn't count but she raised us (3), and my 2 siblings kids practically, supporting them while they were in India and Abroad (not in Canada).

Raising her own kids doesn't count. She does not have the required work experience or education to be approved as a caregiver.

If you can't afford to pay for any health issues that arise, then she should not be staying in Canada long-term.

There's zero chance she will be approved for a caregiver visa. Unpaid work experience / raising your own children doesn't count. There's honestly no point even applying - refusal is guaranteed.

You'll need to be satisfied with the super visa.

You will also have to pay for her medication while in Canada since she is only allowed to bring a 90 day supply with her from India.

Thanks for the reply,

Thank you, I am very well aware of the obvious expenses. She is insured via Emergency Medical Insurance with $0 deductible for any emergency should we have one. Never said affordability was an issue, however having a OHIP has its own piece of mind.

As for the other member, She did have her Medical done via CIC for super visa, they did request it.

All in All, Thank you everyone for your help, I understand that without the Parents sponsorship, I do not have any other pathway to explore to get my mother a PR sooner.
