Hi

I am Canadian and my wife Brazilian. Our daughter has both a Canadian passport and citizenship and a passport for Brazil. Surprisingly her Canadian passport and citizenship paper do not show any place who her father and mother are. Is that odd? Is it because when I applied for her to become and Canadian citizen and get a passport I already showed all that documentation?

How does visa and immigration obtain proof our daughter is ours?

Birth certificate.

When you apply for birth certificate, you have two options:

- Short Form: This will show child's bio information (name, DoB, Place of Birth, Gender) and will NOT mention parents' details/names.

- Long Form: This will show parents' details/names in addition to those in the short form


Some Canadian provinces stopped using the short form, as most of public services are now asking for the long form birth certificate.
