My parents are here in Canada (supervisa), today I got an email from CIC to do medical for permanent residency. Is there any way we can do the medical here in Canada? Please advise how I should proceed.

Go to a panel doctor in Canada. Bring the medical form and they know what to do. Here is the list of IRCC approved doctors.

You can do a medical anywhere in the world.

I don't think so. When I called IRCC, that's what was told.. the background processing hasn't started yet!

So you still have a long time to go before PPR. Just remember PGP processing is taking up to 3 years these days.

There are usually many steps between medical and PPR. Have they completed background checks? Pricessing times for PGP are up to 3 years at the moment.
