MB applied Oct 28, Additional Documents Feb 17..... NO AOR too

Invited to apply: Oct. 17th 2023
Application submitted: Dec. 13th 2023
Received additional documents: Mar. 21 2024
Documents requested - Proof of relationship, IMM5669, IMM5406, proof of relationship with spouse

I see I received an email from CIC with application number starting XF but nothing is updated on portal. It still shows submitted, is that normal? I am just paranoid if its legitimate email? Does application numbers start with XF?

It’s legitimate. X is used for temporary application number.

Thank you so much for the response. And is it normal to still have no updates in portal which shows "Submitted" will it be the same till I send the documents? Also, when we send the documents via email, how do we know if they received our documents?

The portal is showing submitted for most people. You will need to link your application for you to see updates on your application.

Linking does not work until your have UCI or other identifiers . Which means for many of us , application processing mayn't have started yet.

I updated my father address to Canadian address today as he is visiting me for 6 months and. Vola this afternoon and I have already received pre-arrival services letter. Hopefully the next step comes soon. Wishing others all the best!

Hi All, if anyone can guide here
(Dec submission)
Got the same email saying "A review indicates that the application you submitted does not meet the requirements for processing as the application is incomplete. Your application does not meet the requirements for processing as the following item(s) is/are missing or incomplete:
IMM 5406 (for Principal Applicant) and Valid Passport (should be valid for at least 12 months)
IMM 5406 (for Dependant) and Proof of Relationship (provide Aadhaar and Voter's ID card for yourself and your spouse)

Need your help in these Ques -

1. I rechecked my form couple of times but could not find any field missing (except for email field which was optional), so not able to understand what part are they saying missing, which I need to fill in. I had included all the children for both my parents (including me and my siblings). And I had included all brother and sisters of both my parents with their required details ! Any idea?
2. I need to resubmit separate IMM 5406 forms for both my parents ? and it asks for native language, how to add that (and in same form or separate). There are no dependent child to my parent so no other forms are required I believe?
3. Primary applicant's Valid passport - Not sure why they are asking again when I had already submitted the same. I can submit the same again, however the validity of that passport is till Nov 2024 and my Dad wont be able to renew it yet as he is planning to travel in few days. Will that be an issue as they mentioned passport should be valid for 12 months?
4. Voter ID card have our old home address from over 10 years back, can that be an issue?

Thank you, I see the PCC request from the SA letter which was received yesterday but I have not received any PCC request letter specifically yet. I’m wondering if there are any special instructions from that letter which you can share or I only need to apply the PCC normally for my parents? Once again, thanks for reply and hope that we will all get the smooth process

That letter said this:
Police Certificate: You are required to provide a copy of your original police certificate from India.

Do they specify which countries the PCC needs to be from? My parents have lived in a different country for a few years 10 years ago. Will they ask my parent for PCC from that country too or am I just supposed to provide on my own

PCC is required from every country where there have lived for at least 6 months from the age of 18 or over. I got another follow-up letter saying that, so now I also need to get one from Canada since they've been here for over 12 months.

Hey, please I might not be able to make the 30 days to submit the requested document. What should I do to extend the period? Please advise.

Write a letter, attach as much proof as you can - passport submission receipt, online status screenshot if available, anywhere that shows a date when you submitted, or an email that has their processing timeline, all the things that can prove that you've tried to get the passport within the said date and its not possible. Submit that letter through the web form, in that select the option saying you want to add a document to your file and call this document a letter of explanation for passport renewal (or something that makes sense) ... and after a few days follow-up with a phone call to make sure they have your document and ask them how much longer they're giving you. May be they will respond to you will an extended timeline. All the best!
