I thought processing times were supposed to be improving. It is now 24 months.

Then you missed this:

It is difficult to say if it will be 21 months or more. I suspect it will be more (reasons stated in my previous response) unless they decide to prioritize PGP applications which is rather unlikely. The text published states:"Processing times in a given year are calculated based on 80% of applications finalized in the last 12 months and are not necessarily applications received in that year. Furthermore, the start of the processing time is determined when the application has been deemed complete as opposed to when the applications is received."

That it's going to be a long wait for many of us as just 1% were finalized by August. Plus given the higher volumes for 2021 the pending inventory is quite high which does not help 2022 applicants.

I guess no option but to wait another year or so.

Yes same here. I received portal 1 mail on Dec 18.

Received and answered the portal email on Dec 20th. Still waiting for the login info.

Does anyone know if parents can travel outside Canada from now until the virtual landing appointment?

Hi All,

I have received below (highlighted in Bold) for my parents but unfortunately they are currently in India. So, my question is shall I wait for landing documents from immigration department or go ahead and book their tickets for summer (Apr end) as they already have valid visitor visa and then do their PR confirmation through PR portal. I am afraid what if they send landing document which will be valid for next month or so.

Your application for permanent residence is now ready for finalisation pending the
confirmation of your permanent residence status. You’ll complete this process through the Permanent Resident Portal (PR Confirmation).

when I asked this question this is what i got from immigration department.

Hi, I am in the same boat. I got the email id and other information request for portal creation for my mother on Dec 19 and we sent the information right on Dec 19 itself from my mother's email address, but I haven't heard back anything till now.

I am in dilemma now. My mother's return from Canada is booked for next weekend, I wonder if I should postpone her return by another 1 or 2 weeks. Max I can postpone is 2 weeks because then 6 months would complete of the tourist visa and I don't want to apply for tourist visa extension.

Does any one has an idea that how much time it might take for the portal login details to come and what should be next step in this situation. Because I think once my mother returns, I will have to inform IRCC and then we can't get PR confirmation using portal and probably will have to go through outland process for getting visa stamping and all.

So, IRCC keeps sending us this note. This is the second time they have asked for the marriage certificate, and we have uploaded the original and translated marriage certificates of the two parents as well as the sponsor and sponsor's spouse. What else do we need to do?

Vancouver applicants any update! Someone mentioned that Vancouver office hasn't been processing any files over a year due to their staff layoffs. Are they going to keep the files there and process it or transfer it to somewhere else! It has been over a year now!
