Hello Everyone,
Is there any new info on 2018 Parents sponsorship program other than same process we followed in 2017?
I think their online form should be improved to eliminate disqualified people already.

Can we create whatsapp or FB group for parents sponsorship?

Thanks and goodluck everyone for 2018 sponsorship. :)

I guess there are not giving priority to reunite kids with their parents. All other categories for family sponsorship, Hussain is looking into like today I had an email from IRCC that they are reuniting livein caregiver faster etc.
So rediculous.. even though after paying higher taxes needs to try luck on yearly basis. So disappointing :(

There has never been a priority to reunite those in Canada with their parents. Parents sponsorship is a humanitarian class of sponsorship, and government needs to be very careful how many parents are allowed to get PR each year since they are in the age group that represents the highest cost to Canada's healthcare system which is already overloaded in many places. This has absolutely nothing to do with how much tax someone has paid in Canada.

Having a lottery is by far the fairest way to ensure everyone has same chance to sponsor their parents, as long as the lottery is run correctly.

Yes..agreed with you but atleast application/ online form they should improve :)

In order to sponsor my parents under this program, one of the document required is the past three years of income tax returns from CRA.
I recently moved to Canada on a PR and don't have 3 years worth of Canadian returns. However, I have been staying in the US for the past 15 years and have returns for all those years. Can someone tell me whether I can provide US returns in lieu of Canadian returns?

No, only incomes taxed in Canada counts.

To access the interest to sponsor form, answer these questions:

Who would you like to sponsor?

  • My own parents and grandparents
  • My spouse or partners’ parents and grandparents
-----------

It is up and working. Several people here have already submitted theirs. You must have a problem on your end.

Go to the link, indicate who you wish to sponsor and complete the remaining information from there.

If you are still having problems - try a different browser or computer.

Hello,

Do we receive the confirmation email after we submit the interest form ?

Thanks,
